Bidding farewell to our cherished furry companions is an incredibly difficult task, and such was the case when the time came to put Yuki to rest. Brimming with vitality and a spirited attitude until the very end, Yuki, was one of the sweetest little Shiba Inu's you could ever meet.

Tragically, Yuki fell victim to Lymphoma, a relentless cancer that caused her departure on January 18th, 2024. Nevertheless, she lived her best dog life, filled with frequent ravine walks and scrumptious dog treats.

Out of this tragedy emerged the song, "Brown Eyes", a poignant tribute crafted by Nathaniel Sutton, who affectionately used this as a nickname for Yuki. Composed shortly after learning about Yuki's diagnosis, the faithful dog was even present in the room during its creation. This song acts as a tribute to ensure Yuki's memory remains vibrant and resonant. That way, she's never really gone. That way, the world can sing along. Always.

R.I.P. Yuki 2009 - 2024

REVIEWS:

"Brown Eyes washed over me in a wave of melancholy. The lead vocals have a great tonal quality, which is raw and real. Percussion has a nice organic feel to it and keeps the track flowing along with a steady pulse. Whirling guitar is so Immersive and such introspective lyricism, it hits the emotional target it's shooting for. "Brown Eyes" is a solid track." - Music On The Moon

"Brown Eyes serves as a heartfelt tribute to Nathaniel Sutton’s beloved pet Shiba Inu, Yuki, who tragically succumbed to Lymphoma. Crafted with love and affection, the song captures the essence of Yuki’s vibrant spirit and the cherished memories they shared together. Nathaniel’s poignant lyrics and soulful melodies reflect the deep bond between human and canine, offering solace and remembrance in the face of loss. Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Sutton’s musical journey encompasses folk-based indie rock with hints of dynamic alt-country and pop influences. Through ‘Brown Eyes’, Nathaniel Sutton ensures Yuki’s memory remains alive, resonating with listeners as a timeless ode to unconditional love." - Purple Melon

"A heartfelt vocal introspection lingers alongside twangy guitar insertions. "That way you're never really gone, that way you have a place to stay, always," resonates in portraying the lingering effect of a pet or companion in general." - Obscure Sound

"Moving, I love the words and emotion." - Ratings Game Music

"Seriously fantastic work." - Ingrown Radio

"This song hit me right in the feels." - Girl At The Rock Shows
